Chemistry Industry Issues Committee

The Chemistry Industry Issues Committee assesses the status of legislation, analyzes the impact on member companies of proposed policies, laws, and regulations, and works to coordinate the OCTC and member company advocacy efforts. Committee meetings routinely feature appearances by Ohio's political leaders. The committee also provides a forum for member companies to address major regulatory initiatives, programs, and rules. The meeting agendas include updates on regulatory issues, presentations by knowledgeable speakers, and special guests from Federal and state government. A special subcommittee addresses serious problems with Ohio's Title V Program.

Chemical Operator Training
and Certification Committee

The Chemical Operator Training and Certification Committee exists to address OCTC members' needs for qualified individuals to work as chemical operators. Through the Committee, OCTC is partnership with Columbus State Community College to develop a non-credit, on-line basic chemical operator training program. The Committee is also guiding the development of the Ohio Chemistry Technology Council's program to certify chemical operators. This venture is now being finalized--and OCTC hopes to have it in place by the end of 2006.
