lEADING oHIO cHEMICAL cOMPANIES hONORED FOR EXCELLENCE IN eNVIRONMENTAL, hEALTH, sAFETY, sECURITY RESULTS
Emery Oleochemicals in Cincinnati received the Ohio Chemistry Technology Council's Eagle Award for Excellence in Environmental Performance in 2011--in recognition of the company's multi-million dollar investment in a conversion from a coal to natural-gas fired boiler at its main production facility. Pictured above at ceremonies during the Council's 2012 Annual Conference Jere Ellison of Ashland and Chair of the OCTC Board of Directors presents the award to Emery Oleochemicals' Jay Taylor, Vice President and Chief Manufacturing Officer/Regional Manager North America. Joining Messrs. Ellison and Taylor are key Emery personnel involved in executing this project. 26 facilities in Ohio's chemical industry have been honored for achievements in 2011 that demonstrate excellence in environmental, health, safety, or security efforts.
One of these, Emery Oleochemicals has received the Council's highest honor--the Eagle Award--in recognition of its conversion from coal to natural gas as the fuel for its large boiler unit.
