Andy Swaim, President
Andy Swaim joined the Ohio Chemistry Technology Council as Director of Government & External Affairs in 2020 and was promoted to Vice President in 2025. He was appointed President of OCTC in 2026, succeeding Jenn Klein.
As President, Andy oversees all operations of the statewide trade association, including government relations, regulatory advocacy, member services, and OCTC's signature events. He is responsible for developing and executing the organization's strategic plan and representing Ohio's chemical manufacturing industry before policymakers, regulators, and stakeholders across the state.
During his tenure at OCTC, Andy has led numerous legislative and regulatory initiatives and built strong relationships with elected officials and industry partners. He has spearheaded critical technology, operational, and governance initiatives that have strengthened the organization's capacity to serve its members.
Prior to joining OCTC, Andy spent five years with the Ohio House of Representatives in both official and campaign facing roles. During that time, he served as a legislative aide and project manager at the Ohio House, and as a campaign manager and data director with the Ohio House Republican Organizational Committee (OHROC). Andy has a bachelor's degree in Economics from The Ohio State University.
